The 3-D Invisibles played their first show at the legendary Bookie's club 870 on 6 Mile in Detroit on December 17, 1981.  I'm not sure that I was at there for that momentous occasion, but I do know that the 3-D Invisibles soon became one of my favorite bands.  Their music and love of classic horror movies combined with their ghoulish look on stage always meant that a great time was forthcoming.  I soon found out that many of their song titles just pointed me to the horror section at Thomas Video and many pleasant hours of watching classics like "Blood Feast", "The Blob" and the immortal "Plan 9 From Outer Space".

The 3-D Invisibles still feature 2 of their original members - Rick Mills on guitar and Chris Jude on bass guitar.  The original drummer was "Mad Brad" who tragically died in a car accident in 1983.  He was replaced by "Monster Matt" through 1992 and then by Bill Bowen.  The "Flyers" section shows some of the many shows that the 3-D Invisibles played over the years, but I happen to think that Lili's became my favorite place to see these guys play.  For many years, Halloween was not an official holiday unless I made my trek down to Jacob Street in Hamtramck to hear what classic horror movie the 3-D's had chosen to honor that year.  The Halloween tradition took even more meaning last year when the 3-D Invisibles shared the stage with our fearless leader, the Ghoul, and the Paybacks at the Magic Stick.

Over the years the 3-D Invisibles have put out 3 full-length albums, 4 singles and have been included on 9 compilations.  They still put on a great show and it's always a blast to see these guys in action - as the song says - "They Won't Stay Dead !!!"

(Thanks to Rick Mills for providing the info that made this possible).
